Indigo Flamingo

'Indigo Flamingo' is a year-long project where Malmö-based choreographer Gwyn Emberton wants to celebrate his two communities in his new hometown Malmö: LGBTQ+ and dance. A collaboration med Malmö Pride.

Starting at Malmö Pride 2023 and culminating at Malmö Pride 2024, Gwyn Emberton will work with dancers from Skånes Dansteater to create a new dance performance especially for Pride 2024.

'Indigo Flamingo' is created with, for and by Malmö's LGBTQIA+ community. During the year, Gwyn and our dancers will hold creative dance workshops. They will be a place to dance, explore queer movement and create a space where people can share their experiences of being part of Malmö's LGBTQIA+ community in 2023/24.

How 'Indigo Flamingo' develops throughout the year will be a gift and surprise for all involved. The project culminates in a celebration, a party, a place to be queer and celebrate community. The performance will be rooted in stories and ideas from Malmö's LGBTQIA+ community.
