About
A new dance performance by choreographer Tilman O'Donnell.
Meet a cast of eight dancers from Skånes Dansteter in a creation choreographed during an ongoing pandemic by choreographer Tilman O'Donnell.
The View From Here is composed of a series of entrances and exits that invert and divert simultaneously. Using these simple theatrical conventions instead as primary subject, the serial comings and goings draw out the periphery, distending the rhythm of the margins and dragging them center stage.
“how does the world form itself and how am I allowed to embrace its movement?”
from The Pleasure in Drawing, Jean-Luc Nancy
Inspired by Jean-Luc Nancy’s book The Pleasure In Drawing, the dance is a patchwork of sketches and overlaying intersections, of scribbles and precise individual song lines that map and dislocate in equal measure.
The piece will have its world premiere on tour at Helsingborgs Stadsteater. It will continue on tour as well as be performed at Skånes Dansteater in Malmö during spring 2021.
LIVE STREAM ONLINE
The world premiere at Helsingborgs Stadsteater will be live streamed online. Ticket information will be released mid-February.
