About
Dance within the performing arts is usually performed by young bodies. During our festival Forever DANCE we question prejudices and explore new perspectives on age and dance.
In today’s society we live and lead more active lives longer. How does a growing senior population impact the performing arts? Is there a demand for seeing older bodies on stage? What stories and qualities can an older dancer contribute which a younger dancer can’t?
Skånes Dansteater’s festivals explore different perspectives of dance as an art form. This year’s festival Forever DANCE focuses on dance and the aging body.
The programme presents Swedish and international guest performances with senior professional dancers as well as non-professionals. This is your chance to see some of Europe’s most celebrated dancers over 40, attend seminars and get moving in one of our dance workshops.
