Mira Helenius Martinsson, CEO and Artistic Director
Mira Helenius Martinsson took over as CEO and artistic director of Skånes Dansteater in autumn 2019. She has previously been active as a dancer, teacher, producer, coordinator and was between 2007-2018 Artistic Director for Norrdans and Dans Västernorrland at Scenkonst Västernorrland.
Mira is originally from Tampere in Finland but moved to Sweden 1998 to be a dancer in the dance company Norrdans in Härnösand.
Mira is well-connected in Swedish, Scandinavian and international networks of dancers, choreographers, organisations and creatives. She has been a board member of The Royal Swedish Opera (2011–2018), special advisor for Kulturbryggan, part of the Swedish Arts Grants Commitee (2015–2017), developer, project coordinator and expert in the creation of the regional arts plan for Västernorrland. She is Svensk Scenkonst's (Swedish Performing Arts Association) representative on Dansalliansen's board, a member of Kulturbryggan's board since 2019 and a member of Svensk Scenkonst's board since 2022. Mira also has a degree in engineering from Tampere University of Technology.

Operational direction
Skånes Dansteater is comissioned to, in accordance with the corporation charter, produce dance mainly through its own ensemble and thereby run a artistically qualified operation within the performing arts field.
Mission statement for Skånes Dansteater
- shall be run in accordance with national and regional cultural policy goals
- has, with its base in Malmö, a regional responsibility to produce, promote, strengthen and develop dance within the region through among other things regional touring
- shall strengthen and develop programming for childern and young adults
- shall by an operation defined by high artistic quality be a recognized partner of the national and international dance community
- shall together with its owners and other parties take an active part in the regional andvancement and development
- shall collaborate with other institutions and organizations, regionally, nationally and internationally
- shall in all parts of its operation work with in accordance with equal treatment
- shall through its operationpromote meetings between various cultures and reach an as broad audience as possible
