Dance workshop with Joanna Pawlik

Bodies and sculptures

Polish artist Joanna Pawlik will have a two-week residency at Skånes Dansteater in May 2025. This residency is part of her project called 'Landscapes of Living Sculptures'.

Joanna’s work is inspired by her personal experiences with physical disability, and her art explores themes such as empowering disabled bodies, femininity, and the sexuality of amputated bodies.

As a part of this residency, Joanna is giving a five day workshop series open to disabled and non-disabled participants interested in exploring these themes by using their own bodies in relation to ancient sculptures. Together, you will create choreography and visual ideas for an informal group performance on the last day of the residency.

Practical information

No previous dance experience is required. 

The workshop welcomes all abilities. 

This is a series of workshops lasting five days. When you sign-up, you sign up for all five days. 

Maximum number of participants in this workshop is 10 persons. 

The workshops are held in English.

Wear loose fitting clothes that you feel comfortable moving around in. We dance in socks or barefoot.

Taking part in this workshop series is free of charge.

All workshops take place in the small dance studio at Skånes Dansteater.
