Amancio González
Born in Portugalete, Basque Country, Spain (1967), Amancio González began formal dance training at age 20 under Ion Beitia in Las Arenas, followed by advanced study at the Centre International de Danse Rosella Hightower in Cannes.
His professional journey is richly international: from Jeune Ballet International de Cannes and Scottish Ballet, to NAPAC Dance Company in Durban, South Africa, then onto Rotterdamse Dansgroep, Reflex Dansgesellschaft (Groningen), and Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. From 1999 to 2005, he danced with Ballett Frankfurt under the legendary William Forsythe, later joining The Forsythe Company and collaborating for 16 years.
Today, Amancio works as a freelance dancer, teacher, and stager of Forsythe’s repertory – continuing to teach and share his artistry well beyond typical retirement age.
