Danslördag: Avig

For some, it’s easy. They move confidently through the world, stylish trainers, in complete control. For others, it’s harder. Their bodies feel clumsy, their movements come out of order, and every whisper in the room is picked up by their keen ears.

“Avig” is an acclaimed dance performance for the whole family about fitting in. In one’s body, the group and the world. With humour, precision and great physical presence, it portrays the feeling of being a little out of place, and the joy of discovering that perhaps that’s perfectly fine.

The performance premiered at Dansens Hus in 2024 and was awarded the Swedish Theatre Critics’ Award for Children and Young People. With playful sound design, eye-catching props and nods to classical ballet, the dance company TUBO & Co. has danced straight into the hearts of the audience.

Behind the company are the dancing composers Tobias Ulfvebrand and Hugo Therkelson. Together with director Martin Hasselgren, they have created a luxurious work of art filled with recognition, warmth and the joy of movement.
