Punky flamenco in its most primitive form by María del Mar Suárez La Chachi. Forget ruffles and castanets – get ready to experience unfiltered flamenco, with two women spitting sunflower seeds and puffing on cigarettes. Sassy and with a great deal of humour, the duo interpret the Taranto form of flamenco – a style characterised by its primitive simplicity with dry song and no guitar accompaniment.

With child-like pride and in the spirit of punk, La Chachi and Lola Dolores break new ground in the history of flamenco. It becomes a conversation without words, formed of unabashed gestures, voices and bodies – a performance that is both refreshing and rebellious.
