DJ session intro: Funk intro workshop
Skånes Dansteater is delighted to be able to support local dance festival "Turning Floors into Freedom". Over three days in June, Skånes Dansteater is one of the venues for several workshops and events.

With a big love for social dancing Theresa will share a taster during the Festival Turning Floors into Freedom of what that can be within and inspired from the Funk era of the late 60's and 70's social party dancing.

About Turning Floors into Freedom
A festival that aims to reduce the distance between professional dancers, enthusiasts, and diverse groups in society - connecting bodies, bridging communities.Through workshops, performances, talks, and DJ open dance sessions, different generations, cultures, and styles come together on the dance floor.
Here, local dancers share their knowledge and invite conversations about the city’s dance community. Our bodies carry collective knowledge, and dance becomes a space for health and well-being through playfulness, mobility, and connection.
The program ranges from contemporary dance and street styles to traditional folk dance, club culture, and somatic practices.
Organized by Turning Floors Team, supported by Danscentrum Syd, Region Skåne, and Skånes Dansteater.
