Fine Lines
Fine Lines travels to Switzerland for three performances at the Steps 2026 dance festival.
The work of Roser López Espinosa is based on strong physicality, with a great passion for precision, delicacy, acrobatic elements and detail. A lively and playful physical universe of refined poetics and often a touch of humour.
"Fine Lines", a duet with dancers Madeleine Månsson and Anna Borràs Picó, is a dialogue between two exceptional women. A meeting shedding light on the fine lines between us, reminding us of our differences, our boundaries, the outlines of our intentions. But what brings us closer together? What do we want to celebrate in each other? On stage, two women. So delicate, so powerful.
"Fine Lines" is the third commission by Roser López Espinosa for Skånes Dansteater. She has previously created the trio "The Entertainers", premiered 2018 in the triple-bill Sweden Connection in Seoul, and the solo "Featherweight" for Sarah Bellugi-Klima, premiered 2019 in the triple-bill TRIP at Skånes Dansteater, where boxing and The Firebird paid tribute to the feminine body.
Steps 2026
Steps is a biennial dance festival organized by Migros Culture Percentage that showcases outstanding work in contemporary dance. Over the course of four weeks the festival transforms Switzerland into a platform for contemporary dance featuring performances by national and international companies. The 20th edition of Steps will take place from March 5th to March 29th, 2026.
At Steps 2026 "Fine Lines" performs as a double-bill with "Power: Still Going Strong" by Llyod Marengo. The double-bill is called "Timeless Encounters": An institution meet the independent scene, contemporary dance meets breaking. It brings together two choreographies from different artistic backgrounds. Two women whose encounter gets under your skin; two men who have made history with their story.
