Jan Vesala
Jan Vesala studied dance at the Ballet Academy in Stockholm from 1985–87 and began his career as a musical dancer.
In the 1990s, he worked in Germany with Pina Bausch and Rui Horta, among others, and then at Skånes Dansteater from 1998–2000.
After working with a variety of choreographers in Sweden, he trained as an economist at the Stockholm School of Economics. In 2008, he returned to Skånes Dansteater as a project manager, but soon went back to dancing in several productions at the Malmö Stadsteater, among others.
Since 2013, he has primarily worked in Denmark in the performing arts, but also in photography. At the age of 58, he has possibly ended his dancing career and has been studying Software Design at the IT University of Copenhagen since last fall.
