DansFunk Festival: Lunch with the Artist: Aristide Rontini

A unique lunch event with Italian choreographer and dancer Aristide Rontini. This artist talk is a part of DansFunk Festival 2026.

Lunch and an artist talk

Aristide Rontini is no stranger to Skånes Dansteater. Spring 2026 we premiered the brand new creation May Fall with Skånes Dansteaters Kompani. A performance Sydsvenskan's critics called "wild and beautiful". During autumn 2026 May Fall goes on tour in Sweden and returns to Skånes Dansteater's stage in December in a double-bill with Aristide's solo creation Lampyris Noctiluca.

In this Lunch with the Artist you will get to know choreographer and dancer Aristide Rontini, and their artistic practice often challenging identity, relations between individuals and society as well as nature and man.

The artist talk is held in English and led by Filip Pawlak, with sign language interpretation to Swedish Sign Language.

A kind of "Lunch Dance"

Lunch with the Artist takes place in our foyer Foajé Varvsscenen.

Tickets include a savory vegetarian lunch, coffee and cake. Lunch is served from 11:30, and can be enjoyed before, during or after the Artist Talk.

The event is general admission. Your ticket won't have a specific row or seat number. All seats (40 seats) are located on ground floor, in case you wish to avoid using stairs or if you use a wheelchair.

About Artistide Rontini

Aristide Rontini is an Italian dancer and choreographer supported by Europe Beyond Access. He is a founding member of the Italian disabled artists-activists group Al Di Qua who are leading the way in advocating for the autonomy and rights of disabled artists in Italy.

Rontini’s research questions the dimension of identity, the relationships between individuals and society and of nature and human beings.

He graduated as a dancer from Codarts Rotterdam in 2010 and has worked with Simona Bertozzi (IT), the Candoco Dance Company (UK), Alessandro Carboni (IT), Alessandro Schiattarella/BewegGrund (CH), Teatro Della Tosse (IT), Michela Lucenti/Balletto Civile (IT), Angelica Liddell (SP), Carl Olof Berg/Spinn (SV), Vahan Badalyan (Armenia) and Diego Tortelli/Aterballetto (IT).

In the past few years he has developed his own artistic projects, such as It moves me, Giovane Notturno, Talitha Kumi, Alexis and Alexis 2.0.
