Malmö Dance Week: What it takes to build & sustain a dance event

"What it takes to build & sustain a dance event" is a lecture by Farah Deen and Olivia Mitterhuemer and a part of dance festival Malmö Dance Week.

About Farah Deen and Olivia Mitterhuemer

Flavourama Academy is a new educational platform for learning, professional development and artistic exchange – led by Farah Deen and Olivia Mitterhuemer, co-founders of Potpourri Dance and co-artistic directors of Flavourama.

Since 2006, they have been shaping the dance scene: as dancers, choreographers and curators who have brought street and club dance into a wide variety of spaces and contexts – and built one of Europe’s leading Hip Hop and House Dance festivals along the way.

In this lecture, Farah and Olivia share their knowledge and experience around one central question: What does it take to build a dance event and run it sustainably? An honest look at twenty years of work – from idea to execution, from community-building to the realities of running a cultural organisation.

There will be coffee and tea served.
