Inner Song
Inner Song is a dance performance joining live music and dance, a guest performance by acclaimed Swedish choreographer Helena Franzén.
Inner Song is a performance that moves in the intersection of live music and dance. The performance explores how music affects the body and how listening can shape our ways of being in the world.
The starting point is our different backgrounds – landscapes, experiences, memories – and how they affect our self-image, our relationships, and our life choices. Inner Song asks questions about what drives our movements, both from within and without, and how we seek meaning in what we do.
The physical presence of music, the role of listening as communication, the state of flow, and the patterns we carry with us are the themes explored in the performance.
Four performing artists – Emma Augustsson, Helena Franzén, Jure Gostinčar, and Anette Jellne – come together in a collaborative effort where they collectively seek what can be called an inner song.
Inner Song is produced with support from The Swedish Arts Council..
