Lunch with the Artist: Joanna Pawlik

'Lunch with the Artist' is a unique event combining a tasty lunch as well as inspiring insight into artist working at Skånes Dansteater. This time we share the lunch with Joanna Pawlik, a dance residency artist during May 2025, as part of the creation of her work 'Landscapes of Living Sculptures'.

Enjoy a light summer lunch and hear about Joanna’s practice as a visual artist and how she is translating this to working with physical bodies in her project 'Landscapes of Living Sculptures'. 

Joanna’s work is inspired by her personal experiences with physical disability, and her art explores themes such as empowering disabled bodies, femininity, and the sexuality of amputated bodies.

In this residency, Joanna will be joined by local participants to explore these themes using their own bodies in relation to ancient sculptures. Together, the group will create choreography and visual ideas for an informal group performance on Wednesday May 28, 15:00. 

The residency is funded by Region Skåne.

A kind of 'Lunch Dance'

'Lunch with the Artist' takes place in the theater foyer for maximum 40 persons. Your ticket includes a tasty vegetarian soup, bread, coffee and cake. 

Lunch is served from 11:30, but can be enjoyed before, during or after the artist talk.
