Scenkonstnatten: Dance Films x2

Discover the power created when dance meets film! Welcome to Trelleborgssalen to see two films exploring transient lives and the expressive body. Both films are created by our dancers.

Preface

Signs, dance and hands. Preface is a love story of a man who lets his hands speak when there is something to be said, something has been said, and something that can't be said.

In the dance film Preface choreographer Madeleine Månsson uses her own experience as a wheelchair dancer in order to turn the perspectives in this piece about wordlessness as a language and consequence when our own feelings fails us.

Eller så talar vi alls inte

What happens when we start to lose our memory? Who are we when the now and the past starts to blend? Who are our sons and daughters when our parents goes through childhood?

Eller så talar vi alls inte (Or We Don't Talk) is a film with many personal layers blending dance and poetry. Follow choreographer and dancer Kit Brown and the now retired former ballet dancer Niels Simonsen as they dance you through a complex relationship.

The project sprung out of the poetry of Henry Bronett whose words and voice take you on a journey of loss and love, that many of us know all too well.

The film viewing lasts 45 mins. and is a part of the event Scenkonstnatten in Trelleborg. 

Doors to Trelleborgssalen open 15 mins before the film showing begins.

Our Dance Films

Our dance film production started in earnest during the COVID-19 pandemic, as a way to adapt to the challenges and limitations of the situation. Since then, it has become a vibrant part of the organization, producing films every year. Films that are presented at festivals around the world as well as at various events and online.
