Develop your dance

Viaductus Summer Lab welcomes anyone passionate about performing arts with a wish to explore their artistry in an inclusive setting together with others. There are two specializations: dance or acting. Applications are welcome from April 1-May 8.

The lab takes place at Skånes Dansteater and is a collaboration between Moomsteatern, ShareMusic & Performing Arts, and Skånes Dansteater.

What is Viaductus Summer Lab?

During Viaductus Summer Lab we work together for two days exploring artistic expressions. The dance lab is led by a choreographer and the theater lab is led by a director. We want you, as a participant, to be able to attend both days. At the end of the two days, we will meet for a sharing session, where both lab groups will showcase what they have been working on. 

Who can apply to Viaductus Summer Lab?

Anyone with a passion for performing arts who wants to develop and explore their artistry as a dancer or actor can apply to Viaductus Summer Lab. You need to have some form of experience as a dancer or actor – you probably don't do it professionally, but you're also not a complete beginner. Maybe you dream of working with dance or theater professionally in the future?

We work inclusively and welcome everyone, but Viaductus Summer Lab is intended for participants with a disability (physical, intellectual, or neurodivergent), D/deaf, or have some other non-normative functionality. You will explore and create based on your own ability and artistic needs.

How do I apply?

You send in your application to Viaductus Summer Lab by filling out a form online. The application asks you to answer a few questions about who you are as well as requesting a short video of you presenting the creative work you do. The video can be uploaded to your application or you can include a link if it is available elswhere online. 

After the aplication deadline May 8 we will review applications and let everyone know if they have a place in the lab or not. There are 6 places in the theatre lab and 4 places in the dance lab.

Practical Information

During Viaductus Summer Lab we will work together on Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14 from 09:00 in the morning to 15:00 in the afternoon. We want you to take part in both days. Snacks are included during both days, but please bring your own lunch. 

Everyone in the lab will be sent a detailed program and all relevant information. 

Warm up together

During Summer Lab we begin both days warming up all participants in the theatre and the dance group together. You should wear clothes that you feel comfortable in and let you move freely.  

Meet other artists

The dance group and the theatre group will work in seperate rooms, but lunch times and breaks we enjoy together. Summer Lab is a chance to meet other artists and expand your network. 

Sharing

Day two ends with a sharing, an informal performance where the dance group and the acting group show each other what they have been working with during the lab. Family and friends are very welcome to join for the sharing as well.
